Paintings

Painting is my primary artistic passion. Even though I majored in Fine Art in college, I didn't begin painting regularly until around 2006. I started out with watercolors and acrylics on paper and canvas. I also use mixed media much of the time - inks, gouache, and charcoal are some of my favorites. I prefer to work on medium to large canvases and rarely have a plan when I start. Occasionally I will carry a theme across a series of canvases, working to maintain some cohesion between pieces. My paintings tend to be semi-abstract in nature but I like to incorporate stylized forms as well. I love to experiment with color combinations and mark-making.
